PAST CONTINUOUS

The past continuous is used to describe events that started in the past but continue and have consequences in the present, or incomplete or interrupted actions; it is formed with subject + auxiliary verb “was/were” + verb -ing.

(Il past continuous si usa per descrivere azioni o eventi iniziati nel passato ma che continuano e hanno conseguenze nel presente, oppure azioni incomplete o interrotte, si forma con soggetto + verbo ausiliario “was/were” + verbo -ing)

We was running when the rain started 

I were not watching TV when you called

Were you playing guitar when he called?
